Soleil noir

I started to look back on my life – back to my early days.
Ostrava: my home town, the blackness, coal and iron.
That is how Black Sun came about.

It is a rather dramatic sculpture, well structured as are those busy, industrialized towns like Liège or others in the industrial region of northern France – towns where one sees the sun through a curtain of dust and smoke.
